The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on April 1, 2008 approved the issuance of a pivotal patent that covers several innovative aspects of the company's industry-leading OUTCOME System®. The patent, entitled "Apparatus and methods for determining and processing medical outcomes” covers a critical set of innovations related to the collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical outcomes, including physician and hospital performance.

The fourth annual Post-Approval Summit®, held annually at Harvard Medical School, today announced that Dr. Janet Woodcock, MD, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Medical Officer, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Dr. Mark McClellan, MD, PhD, Chairman, Reagan-Udall Foundation, will both deliver keynote addresses at the Summit. The Summit, taking place in Boston at the Conference Center at Harvard Medical School on May 14-15, 2008, is the preeminent conference on the emerging role of post-approval research and the development and implementation of post-approval programs.
2/20/2008 Outcome and the American College of Rheumatology Partner in Interoperability Demonstration at HIMSS 2008
Outcome announced today that the Company will take part in an interoperability demonstration with the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), Allscripts, and Greenway Medical at the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society Annual Conference and Exhibition (HIMSS). The interoperability demonstration will show how the collection of data at a single source for an Electronic Health Record (EHR) eliminates the need for physicians and staff to re-enter data into other applications, thereby reducing data errors and saving care providers valuable time. HIMSS 2008 will be held in Orlando, Florida, from February 24 – February 28, 2008.

Outcome today announced that the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has published the handbook, “Registries for Evaluating Patient Outcomes: A User’s Guide”. This landmark federal publication provides registry developers key information on how to create and operate patient registries and the public and the government with tools by which to evaluate the quality of a registry and how registry data can be used to conduct valid scientific research.
