Observational Studies
Observational studies are studies in which the data is collected as patients present for care, without prescribing treatments or tests. In an observational study, treatment decisions, visit schedules, and any tests/measurements are generally left to the discretion of the provider. Observational studies can provide your company, as well as the health community, with invaluable data on the safety and effectiveness of a product and/or information about the natural history of a disease under standard care practices. These studies provide real-world data that can benefit patients, healthcare providers, companies, payers, and regulators.
The very nature of these studies calls for a different research approach from clinical trials. At Outcome, we understand these differences and tailor each program’s strategy and design to the specific potential of the project. These studies rely heavily on the ability to recruit and retain sites. With more than ten years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing observational studies; our strategic partnerships with government and regulatory agencies, industry groups and alliances, and physician associations; and our patented technology that brings value back to the sites, we are the experts in this field.
